POSTCARDS FROM THE STUDIO 

"I am excited by this new work. "Origami Trio" celebrates playful rhythm and the dance of pattern. It evokes an exotic world influenced by Persian miniatures. I take risks with the space in these paintings, which is mirror-like, flat and deep. 

I played a melody of rich Prussian darks against glimmering, hot color, creating these gems that are at once artistically challenging and delightfully serendipitous and joyful.

They reflect the optimism and invention of the jazz duets of Gerry Mulligan and Paul Desmond, which I was listening to at the time. Pure fun!"
